The sun peeks over the top of the court house as Mrs. Janie unlocks the front door to the coffee shop. She pauses for a moment to aim a good morning and a wave down the sidewalk toward Lexington Eye Care. A "hello there" and "good morning to you" is returned as she continues to enter the shop. Throughout the morning, the phrase "can I get you a cup of coffee," is repeated by Mrs. Janie as she kindly greets customers, neighbors and friends who all stop in to chat over a cup of fresh southern coffee. There isn't a lot of hustle and bustle around the square of which the shop sits on the corner of, but there is plenty of faces to smile at, hands to shake and "how are y'all" sentiments to be given.
This is a typical day in Lexington, Ms, our town. We love the quiet street and the fact that so and so knows so and so. We had the option to place Southern Coffee Services anywhere we wanted to and we chose to stay here, our home.
Home is where we belong, and home is where we want to support. Our goal is to revitalize and rejuvenate Lexington, Mississippi, the town we love, by roasting and selling great cups of coffee. We aren't just made in Mississippi. We are made by Mississippi.
