Mediterranean Burgers with Creamy Garlic Sauce

Mediterranean Burgers with Creamy Garlic Sauce

by Blair Roberts October 09, 2019

It’s always burger season in the South. Whether it’s cold outside or a 100°F …it’s time to enjoy some good company and eat outdoors. In Mississippi, the summers tend to finally die out around the end of October. You won’t see us complain, though. The sunny days give us the perfect excuse to get outside and do the things we love: entertaining, yard work, sports, and, of course, grilling.

If you love garlic, you’ll love these Mediterranean Burgers with Creamy Garlic Sauce. The light, simple sauce complements the flavorful burger patty in just the right way. You and your guests are sure to fall in love with this recipe.

So, let me tell y’all about makin’ this burger. It is incredible!

Garlic Yogurt Sauce
3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
2 T lemon juice
4-5 (or more) roasted garlic cloves
Combine in a food processor and pulse until garlic is well blended. Cover and chill while preparing meat to allow flavors to marry.

Mediterranean Burger Patty
2 lbs Ground Chuck
1 sweet onion chopped
1 1/2 t cumin
1 1/2 t garlic powder
1 t sweet paprika
1 t fine ground morning roast
1/2 t allspice
1/2 t cinnamon
2 t salt
Combine and form into burgers. Grilling is best, but stovetop work just fine too. Cook to preferred temp. Build burger with yogurt sauce and choice toppings and enjoy!

Topping Suggestions:
Olive bruschetta
Sun dried or fresh tomatoes
Grilled red pepper

Christmas Cookies

by Amy Boyett December 19, 2019

I can (vaguely) recall my third or fourth Christmas decorating sugar cookies for the first time with my mother and younger brother.  I think we used a more simple method of colored sugar and candy, but nevertheless, it was such fun and of course the best cookie I had ever had to date.  Over the years my technique has strengthened a bit, but I still find the same joy that started in that country kitchen in Brandon, MS.
